MITOMYCIN-C: It is transformed intracellular to a form which acts an analyzing agent and kills cells in G-M phase. It is highly toxic drug used only in resistant cancers of stomach, cervix, colon rectum, bladder etc.
Indications: Aden carcinoma, lymph sarcoma & semiformal.
Dosage: 6-10 iv. twice weekly o 0.05 mg/kg body wt daily reputing schedule after 2 days to a total dose of 60-100mg.
Contra Indications: Do not through I’m or sac route. Bone marrow depression. Severe anemia, hemorrhagic tendencies.
Special Precautions: Thrombocytopenia. Necrosis. Leucopenia.
Drug Interaction: Potentates adriamycin induced cardio toxicity. Barbiturates and cimetidine alter levees.
