CLINDAMYCIN:
Indications: Respriatory tract (Staphylococci and Pneumococoi) infections.
Dosage: Mild to moderately severe infection 150 to 300 mg 6 hourly.
Severe infection: 300 to 450 mg 6 hourly.
Contra indications: Hypersensitivity to meningitis. Antatonsim between clindamycin and Erythromycin.
Special Precautions: USe in Atopic indivduals periodic liver funtion test and blood count. Hepatic and renal impairment.
Pediatrics: Contraindicated in infants.
Pregnancy: Contradicted
Lactation: Contradicted.
Elderly: Increased risk of side effects
Side effects: Urticaria, rashes, abdominal painnausea, vomiting., diarrhoea. Jaundice and Liver abnormalites, eosinophilia.
Drug Interactions: Erythormycin act as an antogonist. Pacuronium induced neuromusularblockade, reduced absorpiton rate in presence of kaolin-pectin synertistic effect with gentamycin
