LINEZOLID: Community acquired pneumonia. nosocimial pneumonia, complicated skin and structure infections, vancomycin resistant entercococcus faecium, bebrile neutoroperia, seplicaemia, endocarditis, osteomyilitis surgical prophylaxis.
Dosage: 600mg every 12 hrs (b.i.d.)
Contraindications: Contraindicated in patients with konw hypersensitivity to Linezolid and any other product components.
Special Precautions: Use of antibiotics may promote over-growth of non-susceptible organisms.
Side-effects: Fever, dizziness, oral monitiasis vaginal noniolasis, hypertension, dyspepsia, abdominal pain insomnia, rash, constipation, tongue discoloration pruritsu etc.
Drug Interactions: It is a reversible nonselective inhihitor or monoamin oxidase, therefore has the potential to interact with adrenergic or serotonergic agents like tyramine, psedoephedrine phenylopor panolamine. No CyP-450 inducedd drug interactions are ecpected with linezolid . As well no interactions are expected with gentamicin and azteronam.
