NETILMICIN: It is water solbule bactericidal aminoglycosids
Indications: Bacterium, Septicemia, Respire Tory tract, kidney and genitourinary tract, skin soft tissue, bone, joints burns, wounds, preoperative, intra-abdomina and gastor-intestinal tract infections. Infections caused by micro-orgainsms resitant to Kanamycin, gentamicin, tobramycin, sisomicin and amikacin.
Dosage: Adults: 4 to 6 mg/kg/day in 1-3 equal divided doses.
Pediatric Patients: One week or less 3.0 mg/kg every 12 hrs.
Neonates and infants: 2.5 to 3.0 mg/kg every 8 hrs.
Children: 2.0 to 2.5 mg/kg every 8 hrs.
Contraindications: Neurotoxicity, Nephrotoxicity
Pediatrics & Elderly: Use with caution
Pregnancy & Location: Use with caution.
Side-effects: Ototoxicity, pain at infection site headache, visual disturbances, disorientation tachycardia, hyptoension.
Drug Interactions: Enhances toxicity of frusemide and ethacrynic acid. Potentitaes neurotoxicity nephrotoxicity by othre aminoglycosides, cephalordine, polymixin B, csiplatin and cancomycin, potentiates neuromuscular blocking agents incompatible with beta-lactum antibiotics.
