INDICATIONS : Progressive rheumatoid arthritis.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Severe hepatic disorders, bone marrow aplasia exfoliative dermatitis, necrotising enterocolitis, pulmonary fibrosis, SLE.
SAFETY PROFILE : Reproductive age group women should use effective contraception during therapy and at least 6 months after therapy, blood counts and urinary protein should be monitored.
ADVERSE EFFECTS : Blood dyscrasia, ulcerative enterocolitis, thrombocytopenia, pulmonary fibrosis, psychosis.
DOSAGE: Initially 6 mg. daily as single or 2 equally divided doses for 3-6 months.
Dose may be increase to 9 mg/day if response is inadequate.
