Etanercept
INDICATIONS : To control symptoms and signs of moderate to severe active rheumatoid arthritis, combine with methotrexate, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.
CONTRAINDICATIONS : Hypersensitivity.
SAFETY PROFILE : Stop therapy if allergic reaction occurs. Caution required in pregnancy and to nursing mother use only if clear indications appear.
ADVERSE EFFECTS : Pain at injection site, aplastic anaemia, pruritus, allergic reactions.
DOSAGE: Adults : 25mg inj Subcutaneous twice weekly 3-4 days, apart. Pediatric 4-16 year 0.4mg/ kg. Max 25mg twice weekly as a subcutaneous inj 3-4 days apart, NSAIDs/analgesic and glucocorticoids may be given during treatment.
