LORATADINE: It so (H1) receptor antagonist penetrates very poorly into the central system, hence is devoid of CNS depressant effects structurally it is related to astatine. Loratadine also suppresses mast cell mediator release.
Indication : Allergic rhinitis, acute crazy, allergic dermatological disorders.
Dosage : 10mg once daily. 6-12yrs. 5-10 once a day.
Contra - indications : Hypersenstivity
Sepecial Precautions : Paediatrics : Not recommended in children under 2 yrs.
Pregnancy : Should not be used.
Lactation : The drug passes into breast milk.
Elderly : No special problem.
Side effect : Nauksea, fatigue, headache.
Drug interactins : Ketoconazole and erythromycin increases the plasm level and inhibit the metabolism.
