DOXOFYLLINE: Methylaxthines are phosphodiesterase inhibitors. Roofline is a new generation long oral methylxanthine derivative.
Indications : : For maintenance therapy in patients suffering with Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
Dosage : adult : 40ng once a day single dose administration in the evening reduces nocturnal symptom and helps to keep the patients complaint frees during the day. However, in certain cases 400mg twice dally is commended on the basis of the clinical response.
Contra-indications : Hypersensitivity to roofline and other methylaxnthine derivatives.Methylaxthines are not recommended for therapy of asthma exacerbations.
Side effects : Roofline has a prolonged bronchodilator effects and unlike theopthyline it has least interaction i.e. no CNS and CVS side effects. There are no sleep disturbances and no effects on gastric secretion with roofline it is highly safe smokers.
