KETOROLAC TROMETHAMINE:Ocular administration of ketorolac tormethamine reduces the prostaglandin E2 levels in aqueeous humour. It is a safer substitute to steroids in lergic conjunctivitis signfianctly reducing concomitant itching, ild oedema foreign body sensation and photophobia. It can be administered safely with other ophthalmic dedications.
Indications: itching and associated symptoms of seasonal allergic conjunctivitis.
Dosage: One drop 4 times a day. Use should be limited to a maximum of one week.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity, while wearing contact lenses.
Special Precautions : Use cautiously in ocular surgery and other condones where hyphema may occur due to increase bleeding in ocular tissue. In pregnant and lactating women, it should be used only when the benefits far outweigh the risks. Safety in children has not been established.
Side effects: Transient stinging and burring sensation on instillation. Ocular irritation, allergic reactions, superficial ocular infections, superficial keratitis.
