DIPIVEFRINE HYDROCHLORIDE: Dipivfrine is a prod rug of epinephrine formed by the desertification of epinephrine and prevail acid. Dipivfrine gets hydrolyzed nomadically into epinephrine which is an active drug.
Indications : Chronic open angle glaucoma, other chronic glaucoma’s (as an adjuvant esp. to B-blockers)
Dosage : One drops of 0.1% sol twice a day.
Contraaindications : Narrow gale glaucoma, hypersensitivity to dipivefrine
Side-effects : Ocular hyperemia, burning, stinging sensation, follicular conjunctivitis, mydraiasis headache, eye pain cardiovascular effects.
Special Precautions : Aphakic/Pseudophakic conditions, hypersensitivity medication like indomethacin & ecothiphate.
