It Is Potent Vasodilator. Because It’s Preferential Artenial Vasodilatation, It Decreases Peripheral Resistance And Consequent To This After Load, It Also Causes Coronary Vasodilation Which Helps In Its Antianginal Effect In Addition To Its Antihypertensive Effect.

Indications: Vasospastic Angina, Hypertension, Chf, Myocardial Salvages In Acute M.I. Peripheral Vascular Diseases And Oestophageal Spasm.

Contraindications: Hypotension, Cardiogenic Shock. It Should Be Used Cautiously In Pregnancy. It Is Not Recommended In Children And During Lactaction. It Is Avoided In Presence Of Existing Peripheral Oedema.

Adverse Effects: Dizziness, Headache, Ankle Oedema, Tachycardia. Palpitation.

Drug Interactions: Additive Action With Beta Blocker May Lead To Hypotension And Cardiac Failure. Concentration Of Digoxin Is Incereased.

Dosage: 5-20 Mg Three Times A Day.
