It is a papaverine like general smooth muscle relaxant. It has been claimed to reduce frequency of anginal attacks and to improve circulation in peripheral vascular diseases.
INDICATIONS: Impaired mental function due to cerebrovascular disease. Peripheral vascular disorders including intermittent claudication, Raynaud’s disease. Buerger’s disease.
DOSAGE: Adults: 200-400 mg. 4 times daily.
Children: Not recommended.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS: Myocardial infarction. Cerebrovascular haemorrhage.
SIDE-EFFECTS: Flushing, palpitation, headache, G.I. disturbances.
