Calcium dobesilate
Calcium dobesilate is a medication generally used for treating diabetic retinopathy and chronic venous insufficiency. It’s found in the experiments that calcium dobesilate has ability to decrease capillary permeability. It can also decrease platelet aggregation and blood viscosity.
Some latest data show that calcium dobesilate maximizes endothelium-dependent relaxation owing to a rise in nitric oxide synthesis. A randomized, double-blind, controlled study was conducted by some university scholars. They tried to investigate the effectiveness of oral calcium dobesilate therapy in the treatment of acute attacks of internal hemorrhoids. And they were successful.
Technical detail
It acts on the capillary wall by regulating the impaired physiological functions-increased permeability and decreased resistance. It opposes the breakdown of collagen and reduces plasma and blood hyperviscosity improving blood flow and tissue irrigation. It indirectly increases lymphatic drainage which reduces oedema.
