ESTRADIOL TRANSDERMAL SYSTEM
Transdermal therapeutic system, containing estradiol, releasing 0.025, 0.05 to 0.1 mg/day.
Indications: Estrogen deficiency due to the menopause. Prevention of accelerated postmenopausal bone loss.
Dosage: Application once every 3-4 days. Continuous or cyclic administration.
Contraindications : Carcinoma of the breast or endometrium; endometriosis, vaginal bleeding of unknown origin; severe liver damage; a history of, or active thrombophlebitis, thrombosis, or thromboembolic disorders, hypersensitivity, pregnancy and lactation.
Precautions : Heart failure, hypertension, disorders of renal or hepatic function, epilepsy, migraine, fibrocystic disease of the breasts, leiomyomas of the uterus, diabetes, family history of breast cancer.
Warnings: Endometrial hyperplasia & carcinoma.
Adverse reactions: Skin irritation, breast discomfort, migraine, generalized pruritus and exanthema, theombophlebitis.
