STERILE MEDROXYPROGESTRONE ACETTE SUSP
Indication: contraception (Ovulation suppression), endometriosis, adjunctive or palliative treatment for recurrent and/or metastaic breast endometrial or renal carcinoma: menopausal vasomotor symptoms.
Dosage: Contraception: 150gm every 3 months by deep, i.m. injection. Endometriosis: 50mg weekly or 100mg every 2 wks i.m. for atleast 6 months. Endometrial or renal carcinoma: 400 to 100mg i.m. ry wk. Breast cancer: 500 mg/dat i.m. for 28 days. Menopausal symptoms: 150mg i.m. every 12 wks.
Contraindications: Patients sensitive to steroids, pregnancy.
Special precautions: Exclude breast or genital neiplasia thromboembolic disorder. Patient may develop weight gain & fluid retention. High doses used in the treatment of cancer patients may cause Cushingoid symptoms.
Side effects: Anaphylaxis and anaphylactoid reacinsomina, somnolence, fatigue, depression, dizziness and headache, uuticaria, pruritus, rash, acne, hirsutism, alopecia, nausea, breast tenderness and galactorrhea.
Drug interactions: Concomitant aminoglutethimide administration may reduce bioavailability.
