Ceftriaxone & sulbactam
Ceftriaxone is a third generation cephalosporin and sulbactam is a Beta lactamase inhibitor. I t is used to treat intra abdominal infection causing pain and discomfort, infection during surgical procedure, lower respiratory tract infection and in treating some gynecological disorders.
Indications:Treatment of Nosocomial infections. Surgical prophylaxis, meningitis, skin and soft tissue infectious like cellulites, chronic supportive bacterinalotitils media, cheleystitis, and osteomyelitis. Sexually transmitted disease (gonorrhea, chicory, syphilis) urinary tract infections (complicated by underlying urological abnormalities). Infection in dialysis unit.
Dosage: Adult: 1-2 grams given once a day. The total daily dose should not exceed 4 grams.
Pediatric: 50-75mg/kg given once a day. The total daily dose should be not exceeding 1gram.
