MEROPENEM TRIHYDRATE:It is a synthetic carbapenem Beta-Lacto antibiotic for parental use. It has potent bactericidal action against a board spectrum of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria.

Indications: Pneumonias, nosocomial pneumonias, into-abdominal infections, gynecological infections, skin and skin structure infections, meningitis, septicemia and adult febrile Neutrogena.

Dosage and administrations: Administrate red as an intravenous bolus injection over approximately 5 minutes or by intravenous infusion over approximately 15-30 minutes with computable infusion (50-200mg) fluid.

Adult: Pneumonias, UTI, gynecological infections, skin and structure
Infections: 500mg 8 hourly. Nosocomial Pneumonias, peritonitis, adult febrile Neutrogena,
septicemia: 1g every 8 hours. Meningitis: 2g every 8 hours.

Children: Over 3 months and unto 12 years of age 10-12mg/kg every 8 hours.
Meningitis: 40mg/kg every 8 hours. Children over 50kg: Adult dose.

Contra Indications: Hypersensitivity to ingredients. Hypersensitivity to penicillin’s or other beta-lactic antibiotics. Pseudo membranous colitis.

Warning: Dosage should be reducing accordingly in patients with cretonne clearance less than 51ml/min. No dosage guideline is available in hem dialysis and peritoneal dialysis. Monitor ttansaminase and bilirubin levels in patients with hepatic disease. Should not be mixed with or added to other drugs.

Special Precautions:
Pediatrics: Safely is not established in patient with Neutrogena or primary/secondary immunodeficiency. Safety is not established in infants less than 3 months of age.
Pregnancy: Safety is not established.
Lactation: Safety is not established.
Elderly: Safe for elderly with normal renal functions.

Side effects: Serious adverse effects are rare. Local IV injection site reaction, systemic allergic reaction, rash, prorates, urinary, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting diarrhea, pseudo membranous colitis. Reversible thrombocythaemia, eosinophilia, thrombocytopenia, leucopenia and Neutrogena. Headache, prosthesis, convulsions oral and virginal candidacies.

Drug Interactions:Nephrotoxicd drugs, probenocid, sedum evaporate.
