CEFTIZOXIME: Third generation, potential Cephalosporin.
Indication: Lower respiratory tract, skin and soft tissue infections, Septicemia, Severe infections in immune-compromised patients, UTI. Gonorrhea
Dosage: 1-3 gm 8-12 holy.
Contra-indications: Hypersensitivity to Precipitins and Cephalosporin’s
Special Precautions: Renal impairment.
Pediatrics: In children with age unto 3 months
Safety not established.
Pregnancy: Use with caution.
Lactation: Use with caution.
Side-effects: G.I. Disturbances, candidacies esinophilia, Neutrogena, teucopenia, thrombo-cytopenia, rise in enzymes and blood urea.
Drug Interactions: Concomitant use of amino glycosides, other cephalosporins, and arsenide may cause nephrotoxicity action or oral anticoagulant potentate.
