It belongs to psoralens groups. It increases the skin’s sensitivity to sunlight or ultraviolet light.
INDICATIONS: Specially used to treat vitiligo, suntanning, psoriasis (may be used).
DOSAGE: Administered orally with meals or milk.
Vitiligo: Adult and children 12 years of age or over 20-40 mg 2 to 4 hours before ultravoliet light. A (UVA) exposure.
Suntanning: Adult and children 12 years or over: 20-40 mg 2 hours before UVA exposure.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Hypersensitivity to Trioxsalen and ingredients, allergic to sunlight, lupus erythematosus, porphyria, eye problems-cataract, cardiovascular disease, stomach problem, melanoma or other skin caner, recent treatment with x-rays or cancer medicines.
SIDE-EFFECTS: Dry or itchy skin, blistering and peeling of skin, reddened and sore skin, risk of skin cancer, premature aging of skin,
