DIPHTHERIA CUM PROTEIN CONJUGATE:
Diphtheria CRM1 Protein Conjugate is a sterile clear, colorless solution of a conjugate of oligosaccharides. The oligosaccharid is obtained from adequately purified capsular polysaccharide, polyribosylribitol phosphate, which are isolated from Haemophilus b strain Eagan grown . While taking this vaccine if any side effect occurs, a doctor should be consulted immediately.
We are here giving the brief introduction of the vaccine. But one should not take a vaccine on the basis of this small description. Prescription of the doctor is essential. CRM is purified to high purity by means of ultrafiltration, ammonium sulfate precipitation, and ion-exchange chromatography
Technical detail:
It is a sterile solution o! a conjuoa.e c/ ohgosaccharides of the capsular antigen of Haemophilus influenzae type b (Haemophilus b) and diphtheria CRM 1Q protein (CRM 197) dissolved in 0.9% sodium chloride
Indication: Immunization of children against ina sive diseases caused by H. influenzae type fa.
Dosage : 2-6 Months: Three separate injection of 0.5 ml given at 2 months interval. Unvuccinated: 7-11 months: 2 Separate injection 2 months apart. 12-14 months: One injection. Vaccinated: Single booster dose at 15 months of age or older. 15-71 months: Single injection.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to any component of the vaccine including diphtheria toxoid, pregnancy and children below 6 weeks.
Special Precaution: Prevent injection into a blood vessel.
Side effect: Local erythema, warmth or swelling, fever, local reactions, rash, urticaria and tenderness.
