IMMUNE GLOBULIN INTRA VENOUS (HUMAN)

Side effects Headache, hyperthermia, nausea, miting, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, fatigue, malaise, dizziness, chills, sweating, cyanosis, dyspnoea, feeling of tightness or pain in the chest, back pain, myalgia, rigor, flushing or pallor, hypertension, hypotension and tachycardia.
Dosage: Primary ID -0.2-0,8 g/kg (usually 0.4 g/ kg) given once in 3-4 weeks, A trough serum level of 5g/L should be maintained. Secondary ID -0,2-04 g/kg every 3 or 4 weeks; Allograft bone marrow receipients - 9.5g/kg every week for 3 months starting 7 days before transplant. Then monthly for 9 months; ITP -0.4 g/kg/day tor the iirst 5 days or 0.4-1g/kg on 2 days. Follow up with 0.4 g/kg given every 1-4 weeks; Severe infections - 0.4-1.0 g/kg daily for 1-4 days; Kawasaki syndrome -1.6-2.0 g/ kg in divided doses over 2-4 days along with aspirin; Guillan- Barre. syndrome and chronic inflammatory dsmyelinating polyneuropathy - 0.4g/kg/day tor 5 days repeated every 4 weeks as required; Premature and low birth weight infants - 0.5-1.0g/kg repealed weekly or every £ weeks.
