B QONJUGATE VACCINE Simultaneous immunization against diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis during infancy and childhood plays a major role in markedly reducing the incidence of cases and deaths from each of these diseases.
Indications and usage: It is indicated for the active immunization of children 2 months of age to 5 years of age for protection against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis and Haemophilus b disease.
Dosage : For infants beginning at 2 months of age, the immunization series for the combination product consists of three doses of 0.5 ml_ each at approximately 2 month intervals, followed by a fourth dose of 0.5 ml at approximately 15 months of age. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to any component of vaccine. It is contraindicated if the child has experienced an immediate anaphylactic reaction following previous immunization with a pertussis vaccine or a personal or family history of seizures is a contraindication to further use.-
Special Precaution: To be given with caution to infants or children with thrombocytopenia, or any coagulation disorder. Special care should be taken to prevent injection into a blood vessel. Safety and effectiveness in children below the age of 6 weeks have not been established.
Side effects: Local: Erythema, Pain / Tenderness, Swelling, Warmth, Systemic, Fever > 38.0 C, Irritability, Drowsiness, Restless sleep, Loss of Appetite, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Rash Drug Interactions: Children receiving immunosup-pressive therapy may have a reduced response to active immunization procedures.
