Anastrozole is a potent selective nonsteroidal arommatase inhibitor. It acts by blocking the conversion of aromatizable steroirs to estrogen.

INDICATIONS: Advanced breast cancer in post menopausal woman.

CONTRAINDICATIONS: Pregnancy, Hypersensitivity Premenopausal woman.

SAFETY PROFILE: It should not be co-administered with tamoxifen.

ADVERSE EFFECTS: Hot flushes, vaginal dryness vaginal bleeding, hair thining , anorexia, bone fractures, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache.

DOSAGE: For early diseases 1 mg daily up to 5 years.
